"safaree please listen."

ms maraj woke from her sleep with her daughter still laying as they were when they talked that night. she glanced down at Nicki tears rolling down her face.

"safaree I'm sorry please just don't leave."

ms carol pushed Nicki's hair from her face and kissed her fore head.

"baby. onika baby wake up."

"huh ma?"

"wake up baby your dreaming."

"huh?"

"your talking in your sleep."

"oh I'm sorry did i wake you?"

"yes but are you sure your OK?"

"yes ma I'm OK where is minnie?"

"i think she went to her bed last night something we should have did."

"what time is it ma?"

"its 4am."

"OK I'm going to go up to bed and you do that to."

"i will baby. do you want anything from the kitchen?"

"no I'm OK I'm just going to go check on minnie and then go up to bed."

"OK onika good night baby."

Nicki walked down the hall into minnies room and and searched for the little dog. she took a look into the little hut and saw minnie sleeping on the bed. Nicki checked the room for the ramp and wondered how the small dog got up there. she saw nothing and continued to her bed room.

"hmm seems like i underestimated her." Nicki said walking up the stairs to her bed room.

ms carol entered the kitchen. she took out the kettle and put it on the stove. going in the cabinets she removed two cups she pulled the small cell phone Nicki forced her to get out of her pocket and searched for safarees number.

"hello?" safaree whispered into the phone half sleep.

"safaree?"

"mama carol?"

"yes dear did i wake you?"

"yes but that's fine are the babies OK?"

"yes they are fine."

"is Nicki OK?"

"well that's what i called to talk to you about."

"OK."

"onika told me whats going on between you two."

"mama carol if your--"

"don't interrupt me boy I'm not onika."

"yes ma'am."

"now i know things take time to heal but please i want you guys to fix this before my gran babies get here. you guys have to think about them now its not just you two. I'm aware that she may have slept with drake and I'm fully aware of your actions too. I've watched you two grow. i know deep down you love each other. its time for you both to grow up. now I've talked to onika and you know how stubborn that child is so i expect you to find a way to talk to her. her tossing and turning in bed cant be right for those little ones so you two fix this now!"

"yes ma'am."

"OK safaree I'm counting on you."

"i understand ma'am"

"sleep well now."

"you too."

the kettle Begin to make noise and ms carol put water into both cups. she grabbed for the tea and made her way upstairs.

"onika here drink this."

"ma i don't want any tea. wait does it have honey?"

"not nearly as much honey as you put in it but yes it does."

"well no i don't want it I'm fine."

"onika drink this tea so you and my grand babies can sleep! it wasn't a question."

"OK OK ma."

"good night."

two days before the doctors appointment...

"ma Candice is on her way but I'm about to run to the store."

"cant martin do that for you?"

"ma i fully capable to do it my self plus nine times out of ten i send martin to the store to get something and he forgets." Nicki said grabbing her purse pulling her shirt down over her belly.

"OK. and we are going to have to go to the store and get you bigger shirts."

"ma I'm fine."

"and so am i which is why when you come back me you and Candice will go to the mall to get you maternal clothes."

"yeah OK ma." Nicki said closing the door."

Nicki got in her car and made her way to walmart. she parked in the back and put on her hat and glasses. she made sure to go in her real hair and to wear a shirt with sleeves so you couldn't see her tattoo.

"welcome to walmart ms."

"hi." Nicki said passing the guy.

Nicki headed to the food section with her buggy. she picked up onions , green pepper garlic bread pasta and spaghetti sauce. she then headed for the movie section and began to brows through the movies.

she tweeted not watching where she was going pushing her cart into safaree.

"wut tip......guy..... Nicki?"

"safaree?"

"what are you doing here?" they both said at the same time.

"well I'm looking for a movie for me Candi and my mom to watch what are you doing here?"

"looking for a movie for me to watch."

"spaghetti?"

"your cart are you making spaghetti tonight?"

"why you just ain't have martin go to the store for you."

Nicki turned to look at safaree holding tears back behind her glasses.

"well its nothing we can do about that now is it."

"you know you miss me as much as i miss you. your probably holding tears back behind them damn glasses." he said pointing at her white shades.

"I'm not!"

"you are but that doesn't make a difference. i wanna be there for you every step of the way through this pregnancy Nicki. those are my kids too."

"you know what safaree i have company at home i really gotta go."

"Nicki wait!"

"what safaree?"

"why are you being so cold towards me. we booth were wrong. i forgive you. why cant you forgive me. i see you never take that locket off. so in your heart you still must feel something for me."

"safaree just don't. not here not now."

"well where and when Nicki? its never going to be the right time for you."

"your right."

"you know what your mom was right."

"she was right your so stubborn!"

"when did she tell you this."

"she called me the other night and practically handed me my ass and told me to fix things with you. but its impossible. i knew it when she asked me to. i had been thinking it on my own. should have just went with my first mind and left it alone. have a great day Nicki. and make sure your telling my kids daddy loves them."

safaree continued down the movie aisle as Nicki went to the other side of the aisle to pick up the first two movies she had. she pushed her buggy around the store once more getting a few things for minnie. and got in the check out line. her phone buzzed.

Nicki got in the car and just sat there for a while. she picked up her phone and sent a text to safaree.

Nicki pulled off and started her way home. she got in the drive way and closed the door. Candi looked out the window and ran out to help her with bags.

"really Nick martin could have went to the store."

"all y'all telling me the same damn thing but martin would have forgotten something i really needed."

"what happened with you and safaree."

"what do you mean?"

"i saw his tweet Nicki and i know you saw me tweet him."

"how would he have made a fool out of him self then. and is any of this stuff going up?"

"no none of it goes up just set it on the counter."

"oh so that's the only question you heard?"

"minnie hey mamas baby!"

"oh he told me he missed me in front of a bunch of people but i did not say it back."

as soon as Candi finished her sentence the door bell rang."

"right now open the door for safaree please."

"i don't know good question." Nicki said going to open the door for safaree dog in hand.

safaree stood with a blank face in the door looking around he thought it was a trick. that it was all a joke. just a few minutes ago she wanted nothing to do with him. now hes back to being baby.

"are you just going to stand in the door with it wide open or are you going to come in i would love to put this dog down and start cooking."

"oh I'm sorry where is your mother?"

"oh shes in the back in Nicki's study." Candi said sitting on the counter.

"OK I'm going to go say hi and give her these." he said holding up some red roses.

"who are the pink ones for?" Nicki said putting the sauce in a pot on the stove.

"you beautiful."

"eww i said fix it not make me vomit Candi said hopping down off the counter."

"making you vomit is what we do best." safaree said bumping into Candi."

safaree walked down the hall to Nicki's study and minnie ran out barking and growling at him."

"minnie!" ms carol yelled.

"minnie its OK come back and sit down."

safaree just stood looking at the little dog.

"safaree don't do that." Nicki said walking past safaree hitting him.

"what i do to the mutt?"

"shes not and don't stare at her like that it makes it worse."

"hey no one told the little ankle biter to move in."

"i did now here." she said handing him the small dog.

"here what?"

"bond."

"bond my a... ugh my butt." he said giving mama maraj a smile.

"you better watch that mouth of your chile."

"yes ma'am. these are for you." he said giving ms carol a hug and the roses he got for her.

4 months.... (doctors visit)

Lauren looked under the mat for the spare key to open Nicki's door. once she got it open she could see every one sprawled out over the living room floor. Nicki laying on safaree stomach minnie taking over safarees chest Candi next to ms carol and ms carol on the couch.

"dang why i wasn't invited? people have company and don't know how to invite a bi-- girl." she said remembering ms carol was in the room.

"i heard that chile." ms carol said rubbing her eyes sitting up on the couch.

"i didn't say the whole thing i changed it."

"yeah y'all better watch it!"

"yes ma'am."

"what brings you here so early?"

"Nicki has a doctors appoint--- err come here ms carol."

"OK let me go brush my teeth and get my self together first baby."

"OK."

ms carol came back out of the bath room and sat at the kitchen table with Lauren.

"so where are you and onika going?"

"she had her doctors appointment today."

"why are you talking so low? why is that a secret?"

"because did she tell you what happened?"

"yes and its fixed now."

"no she didn't tell you everything ms carol."

"soo you tell me then."

"so the lady safaree slept with was her doctor."

"what?"

"yeah i guess it was his ex and Nicki never knew."

"well what does that have to do with onika?"

"I'm going because she doesn't want safaree to go."

"that's wrong. she shouldn't keep stuff like that from him."

"well i don't blame her ms carol."

"safaree is going to this appointment."

"yes ma'am but so am i."

ms carol gave Lauren a mean glare.

"you look here. if you go you better be on your best behavior."

"i promise as long as she is on hers." Lauren said walking out of the room to wake Nicki.

"Nicki! Nicki! wake up!"

"huh?"

"oh my god. wake up!"

"Lauren? what are you? oh shit! what time is it?"

"sorry ma i forgot."

"well I'm going to need you to remember and wake safaree up."

"no ma he can stay sleep until i get back."

"onika i said wake safaree up hes going to that appointment with you."

"Lauren!" Nicki said hitting her in the arm.

"so if i asked you to take a walk off a long bridge would you do it? no? i didn't think so." Nicki said
rubbing her belly walking up the stairs to her room.

"so are you going to wake safaree? Lauren yelled up the stairs to Nicki."

"you all ready did."

"wake me up for what?"

"y'all creepy how she know you was woke?"

"it just something... why am i suppose to be up whats going on."

"doctors appointment."

"the.. where is Nicki?"

"in her room getting dressed."

"safaree come here!" Candi yelled to safaree."

"what?"

"nothing just come here for a minute."

safaree walked over to Candi.

"come closer."

he stepped forward a little bit still looking lost at Candi.

"closer!"

he stepped in more until he was almost touching her face. Candi bumped heads with him and looked him in the eyes.

"calm down you just got back. calm down before you go up those stairs. calm down like right now. go take your shower or something and then go ask but calm down please."

"OK OK i got you."

safaree walked into his old room and looked through the closet for something to wear he continued to think of reasons she could possibly have for not telling him. he pulled out clothes and headed for the shower.

"Nicki you should at least told safaree."

"for what Lauren then he would have told me he wanted to go. i don't want him going now but since someone cant keep their mouth closed i don't have a choice." Nicki said putting her shirt over her head. wait what is he wearing?"

"white and like a navy blue. why?" Candi said taking a seat on Nicki's bed.

"because if hes going I'm going to make it look as if we are fine."

"meaning."

"meaning matchy match holding hands make you vomit type stuff!"

"oh y'all cute."

"what does his shirt say?"

"something about haters."
Nicki laughed and sat on the bed. she pulled her dress up over her legs and stood for Lauren to zip it up.

"what shoes are you wearing so i can get them."

"the navy blue ones at the top with the peak toe."

"oh you mean the ones that say safaree gone kick yo ass."

"yeah those Nicki said."

"OK I'm not helping you!" Lauren said reaching for the shoes."

"so he will get over it." Nicki said putting the Shea butter on her legs and arms.

"I'm sure Nicki."

"i will get over what?"

"nothing."

"no what will i get over?"

"nothing are you ready to go?"

"yeah right after i talk to you."

"can you talk to me in the car?" Nicki said letting her messy curls down from her bun. "we will be late if you talk to me here."

"its just one question Nicki and the answer you give me will be the end of the conversation."

"OK shoot." she said spraying her self with her Cloe perfume.

"why didn't you tell me?"

"because i honestly don't want you around her."

"so change doctors?"

"keep your friends close and enemies closer." Nicki said not taking her eyes off her self in the mirror.

"OK Nicki. and you look nice.. wait whats that on your feet?"

"shoes dummy!"

"OK Nicki consider this your last time wearing those type of SHOES. and for the record shes nothing i want. what i want is right here." safaree said kissing her fore head.

"mmhmm."

"i mean it Nicki."

"and i said mmhmm. lets go."

"ms maraj?"

"yes?"

"the doctor will see you know."

safaree Nicki and Lauren stood at the same time.

"ma'am only the mother and father please."

"no its fine shes OK."

"but-- OK." the lady said defeated by Nicki's look.

safaree grabbed a hold to Nicki's hand as they walked back to the room. a room safaree remembered all to well. Nicki took a seat on the table letting her legs dangle. as safaree stood next to her still holding her hand and running her belly talking to the babies. Lauren sat int he chair by the sink out of the way looking at her time line.

"OK safaree and Nicki lets see whats going on."

Michelle entered the room in a revealing top and some dress pants. her hair flowed down her back her and Nicki's hair looking almost the same.

"so how have you to been?" Michelle asked looking at the notes the nurse took before she came in."

"fine just fine." they both said at the same time.

"that's nice." she said Finally looking up from the clip board.

her eyes darted to both of safarees hands. and her mood changed.

"OK so no back pains or anything? and those aren't good for the babies." she said pointing at Nicki's shoes.

"mmhmm." Nicki said looking at her.

"OK safaree i need to ask Nicki some questions so can you step out the room for me?"

"yeah. ill be right out here baby."

"OK safaree."

Michelle's stare got harder as she watched safaree kiss Nicki on the fore head and leave.

"so your blood pressure is a little high things been going on at home?"

"things like what?"

"any thing between you and safaree fights anything like that."

"no but i am an artist and this baby wont set my work back it may be work."

"oh OK. I'm sorry you know sometimes things happen."

Nicki furrowed her eyebrows and cocked her head to the side and Lauren followed suit.

"no i don't know explain it to me."

"nothing. I'm just saying."

"well you need to not say be my doctor and tell me how to get it down."

"just no stress. no yelling fighting and cut down on your work."

"can do." Nicki said crossing her legs." "can he come back now or do you have more questions." Nicki
said making quotation Marks with her hands around the word questions.

"just one more question." she said mocking Nicki's gesture.

"OK shoot doc." Nicki said now uncrossing her legs.

"whats all this hostility towards me."

"well i dont know doc you tell me."

"is it because me and safaree are talking again."

"excuse me?"

Lauren remembered what ms carol told her and sat back crossing her legs. she didn't think Michelle knew she was and the room and she would keep it that way until she said something to Nicki totally out of line.

"i mean is it because of our little date a few weeks ago."

"i wasn't aware that he was dating any one but me."

"you guys are dating?"

Nicki just looked at her with a confused face.

"I'm sure you know we are dating. i don't just pick random guys off the street and say hey you wanna be my babies daddy?"

"oh well a few weeks ago i just thought since we did what we did that he was single."

"and what was it that you did?"

"well.. you know.."

"no i don't know cuz i believe if i did i would not be asking you right now."

"we had sex."

Nicki's eyebrows raised and Lauren stood up.

"bitch you got some nerve!" Lauren spat at Michelle.

"who are you captain save a hoe?"Michelle said looking at Lauren startled.

"nope Lauren we good on this side. can you just tell me what my babies are and how they are doing so i can get the fuck out of here.""

"OK can you lift your dress and cover with this." Michelle said handing her a blanket to put over her bottom half.

"you wanna know the sex of them first?"

"yes."

"so." Michelle said adjusting in her seat now nervous because Lauren was standing over her. "you have a girl..... and a boy......"

"nothing seems to be wrong with either of them I'm looking for heart beats now. and there they are."

"why are there heart beats so fast Nicki said listening to them."

"well mainly because your blood pressure is high they react when you react that why its important to have a stress free pregnancy."

"so are we done here?"

"yes you can wipe the gel off of your tummy and your pictures of the ultrasound will be up front for you to take home to show your family."

"thanks." Nicki said pulling down her dress and hopping off the table. "oh and doc next time i wont be so nice and i just might let her beat your ass for me seeing as though my current situation." Nicki said rubbing her belly. "watch who you think your fucking with because you just might get hurt."

"that goes both ways darling." Michelle said to Nicki as Nicki brushed past her.

"oh no nick say the world and ill lay her ass out right here."

"Lauren lets go. her threats ain't shit to me."

"damn Nicki you dont let me have no type of fun."

Nicki opened the door and brushed past safaree to the front desk for her ultrasound photos.

"bab--- whoa whats wrong with her and where did that waddle come from."

"if i was you id shut up."

"wait what just happened?"

"ask that bitch!"

"what bitch?" safaree said turning looking at Michelle standing in the door way giving Nicki an evil look as she walked away.

"you didn't?"

"i did she needed to know about us safaree."

"there is no us bitch! i put you out! i swear bitches delusional! Nicki wait! I'm never coming back to this place again why does it always end like this. me running down the hall trying to catch a pregnant woman in heels. its not even like she wearing flats or running shoes either damn!"

Nicki got into the car on the passenger side Lauren in the drivers seat as they waited for safaree to get in.

"Nicki i thought we was past her?"

"was past tense safaree."

"what did she say to you."

"you must have gave her that good good dick safaree cuz bitch thought she reserved the right to brag."

"what are you talking about Nicki."

"the fact that that bitch put you out to tell me she fucked you safaree."

"that's why she asked me to leave?"

Nicki looked out the window letting tears roll down her face. as bad as she wanted things to be good again with her and safaree it killed her cuz she knew it would take more time.

"well do you know what the babies are at least?" he asked in a low tone.

Nicki just sat looking out the window not answering his question. Lauren looked at Nicki and she gave her head a nod.

"a boy and a girl safaree." Lauren said in a calm tone.

"really!"

"yes."

"i knew it!"

a small smile spread across Nicki's face and more tears fell.
